No Comply

You know the story. Neil Blender invented this trick and it appears in skate videos from as early as 1985 but really caught on when it was featured in Thrasher Magazine's "Trick Tips" with Natas Kaupas demonstrating it step by step. 20 years after I learned this trick I can still pop 'em. Neil showed me this trick when he was first trying them in 1984. We were at the Hunter's Point dish in San Francisco. I started doing them off of everything and got the name Jeff "No Comply" Hogan after I popped one off the stage over a trash can that was sitting right in front of it. Hosoi was filming the sk8 Hard 2 video when I did it and offered me a spot riding for him. Funny, my kids were looking on the net for old Embarco pics and found this and were all," Dad, dad, this guy has the same name as you...No Comply No Comply" Hahahhaha. Good to see an old man still rippin. Great shot man.

Jeff "No Comply" Hogan! Thank you very much for stopping by, Stoked that your kids found this pic. Ka-Bonk goes the no comply! Love that trick, just got home from skating that curb spot tonight. I always credit Neil with the invention of this "no hands boneless" even though it was Natas Kaupas who was featured doing it in a step by step in Thrasher's "trick tips" in around '87 or '88. I've seen some of Neil's cartoons from 1984 with characters popping them over curbs! It's so rad that you were busting them way back when!
Thanks again, all of the respect in the world to you Jeff!
