More 10 x 33

10" by 33" tapered tail with Punk Point nose.

Black stain.

Red stain.

Natural.

While advertised as a "longboard", it's plain to see that these 10" by 33" decks are more in the category of "old school", "pool board", etc. Personally, I find them to be in the category of street, park, pool, curb, wherever I am skating. Should be arriving within the next 2 weeks so stay tuned.

10 x 33

I rode these Moose decks for a while from 2007 until almost 2009. They are solid, wide as a boat and a good fit for my big frame. I've been shopping decks a lot lately trying to find a good fit. I have ridden a lot of 8.5" decks in recent years, the Krooked Zig Zagger and the Assault Pointer among them, as well as my new favorite which is the Assault Ricky Winsor 9" by 33.5" with a 15.25" wheelbase. I was real close to ordering the 36" Duane Peters from Pocket Pistols as well, but I think I am going back to the 10" x 33" with the 15.75" wheelbase. These decks are a perfect fit for 169mm trucks and the wheelbase is perfect. The shape is nearly the same as the Assault Pointer, only larger. Stay tuned.

How Soon Is Now?

So many boards, so little time and money. Putting in the order for one of these real soon. 9.5" wide by 36" with an 18" wheelbase. Sold! Time to step up to the big board.

Daily Grind

Exit strategy.

Over the last four years I've flattened more than a few sets of trucks on this ledge in what is one of my favorite lines in the park.

Powell Peralta Oval Dragon 56mm 90a

Received these today from Marc's Board Shop. They are 56mm 90a Powell Peralta Oval Dragon street formula wheels. A real smooth ride with a perfect slip to grip ratio in my opinion. Personally, I don't like to ride anything smaller than a 55mm, so these are perfect. There is not much discernible difference between these and the 58mm wheels I was riding. They remind me of the late 1980s when we a lot of us were riding 55mm to 57mm Powell Peralta freestyle wheels on larger street boards.

Rodney Mullen in Bones Brigade: Future Primitive

Yes, I'm going to get a dog, a big dog. One turd repels traffic, spoils make-up, ruins hairdos. Helicopters can't get in close to neutralize. I'll get a big dog, he'll bark even as he naps...

Slap A Curb

Nothing better than a slappy session at 1 a.m. as temperatures finally dip into the mid 60's. Even with the humidity at 90%, curb conditions were conducive to some solid grinds.

Skate Fate Book Review

Skate Fate was a zine produced by Garry Scott Davis aka G.S.D. I read about this over at Skate and Annoy (which started as a Xerox zine too) and put it on my wish list. My awesome wife came through on our 5th wedding anniversary and I am STOKED! A must have for any fan of skateboarding, the book features interviews with a 19 year old Bill Danforth, Tod Swank, drawings from Neil Blender and much more. Order your copy today!
