Skate and Annoy To Run Eli's Pic

I am a frequent reader of the Portland Oregon based skate website Skate and Annoy. What started back in the day as a DIY 'zine has grown into a web based resource for skate news and reports of weirdness from the Pacific NorthWest and elsewhere. There are a handful of Portland area web heads who keep these sites rolling along and there is a good bit of cross over and collaboration between sites. I really enjoy Mark Conahan's AntiGravityPress which features great pics and MC's skate comics which are one of kind gems of humor, satire, and truth. Earth Patrol is another site that always has clean skate pics from the Portland area. Recently the main man at S&A put out a request for photo submissions and I, being the shameless self promoter of skateboarding that I can be, filled the request by submitting some shots I thought were pretty decent. To my surprise I received an e-mail from Kilwag (he runs the site) with Eli's shot of me at the wallride spot stating that was the pic he wanted. I didn't even submit this pic I thought. Ahh the convenience of modern technology. I have been advised that the pic will post this week as SHOT OF THE WEEK at http://www.skateandannoy.com/. The current shot of the week is J. Grant Brittain's pic of Lance Mountain with his board on fire from Terror at Tahoe (or the Tahoe Massacre) back in 1984. To have my son's pic of my beer gutted body transcending the Old Dirty Wallride Spot posted on a rad site like S&A is an honor to say the least. I have a lot of respect for what Skaters for Portland Skateparks have accomplished. Do yourself a favor and add these sites to your favorites. These guys have provided a blueprint for skaters in every city to follow to get real skateparks built in your town. All it takes is organization and patience. Thanks Kilwag for choosing that pic. You guys Rock. And Roll. To Fakie.

It's up. I shorted you a couple days by accident. Our baby is about a week old and I've been doing the sleep deprivation dance. I spaced the changeover on Sunday night, remembered Tuesday Morning but forgot to change the script that displays it on the front page. Since it's only a half a week, I'm going to extend the run for another week. It's up now! Thanks again!
