Nice, I've got this dilemma lately between hard wheels and soft wheels. I like how I can do noseslides and tailslides easier with hard wheels, but I hate loosing control pumping around the bowls with hard wheels...I currently have these nice soft Pig Street Cruisers 54mm 80a with a core and they are super fast and it's like riding in a cadillac doesn't matter how rough the surface is, but they stick like glue, you can slide them around, but you have to really put the effort in and unfortunately my tailslides and noseslides stop on a dime. :( I guess I need something in between..I've never found the perfect mix...I really love riding in comfort. I know what the solution is...ride faster, if it doesn't slide, you are not going fast enough...think that was the solution in the 80s. :)
I know what you mean. VERY much in love with the ride of the 80a but no tail/noseslides no matter how much wax. My Rat Bones 85a slide along the front of the curb with no problem but 80a no dice. The OJ's on the other hand... Whoa! My friend Jason recently said the solution is to go faster, you've got that right!
“I don’t want to see a Frito’s commercial with a skateboarder on it. It’s not in the spirit of skateboarding. We’re not supposed to be in the limelight. We’re supposed to be the scuttlebutt. We’re not supposed to be heroes. We’re supposed to be zeroes. If we look good, we look bad.”
