Barnyard

A true defining moment in skateboarding. The Vallely Barnyard by World Industries was released in 1989 and was the predecessor to todays symmetrical "Popsicle stick" shapes. The Barnyard was like a big freestyle board and like Mike said "A new style of skating was coming and I wanted a board shape that represented that change. From that the Barnyard was born". This is one of a handful of shapes I would like to cut from an uncut blank today. Bring it back! Check out more of Mike's favorite shapes here.

Fat Guy On A Curb

Influence.

Stay Skate!

Heeding the advice of the Master of Disaster will help you avoid "The Shit Show". Stay Skate! You don't quit skateboarding because you get old. On the contrary, you get old because you quit skateboarding.

Injury Skateboards Jeff Haynes

A short film by Tom Sloan featuring Jeff Haynes.

Concrete Jungle

We talked about Gonzales, Venice, Cooksie, Natas, Martinez, Block, The MSA, wallrides...
The purists will argue that walls are straight up and down. These concrete slabs are the closest thing to a wide open wallride spot ala the now defunct Pavillionthat one will find in the confines of this mountain town. Tom Sloan paying homage to Venice where few dare to tread.

Tommy Gun

What's better than skateboarding? Skateboarding with your good friends! Tom Sloan laying down the law at Coonskin Park early Saturday, September, 4, 2010.
