An Old Dirty Tale

Last stop before home this morning was the Old Dirty Wallride Spot. I know some of you may but I never get tired of this place. It was full of broken glass, cans, trash, and some nice mud in the landing area. Nice skate spot. Just look at where the petrochemical grocery bag ended up. Wrapped around my truck and bringing my wheels to a STOP. All shots by Grom.

Grom Squad!

Grom got to break in his new board on the streets today. The first shot is an old school blunt stall and the second is a nice frontside edger on our favorite curb, which we had rewax the hell out of today because it had apparently been sandblasted since last we skated it.

Boneless To Truck Smash

Grom shot this sequence this morning at our warm up spot. I haven't done a boneless to anything in quite some time so I was pretty stoked to pull one to axle stall. The fourth pic is me just as I released the board and the trucks are about to touch down. Thanks Grom! Great shots.

It's ON!

Sunday March 2nd has been confirmed as THE date for a benefit music show and art auction to be held at the Blue Parrot in Charleston to help my wife with mounting medical expenses. We will post info here as it becomes available (I should have a copy of the show flyer soon!) so stay in tune and join us on March 2nd to help my wife get well again. OK, so I decided not to watermark my pics because I have way too many things to deal with at the current moment. However, I would like to let my readers know that on Sunday March 2nd we will be having a benefit for my wife, Emily Hope, at the Blue Parrot in downtown Charleston. There are several local musicians down for the cause and several artists are donating works to be sold as well. Come out and join us and help us help my wife to get well. I will post the official time and the line up of musical acts as soon as I get my hands on the official flyer. Thanks to everyone who has supported us during this trying time. We appreciate the outpouring of Love from all of our friends. Posted here are a few pics from the Groundhog's Day Jam at the Empty Glass which went down last night. Tom and the guys put on a really good show and threw down on several originals and covers including "Small Axe", "Bananas and Blow", "Elm Tree", "Grow", "Folsom Prison Blues", and "Put It On", which is a beautiful prayer if there ever was one. Feel free to steal these pics and post them on your MySpace page. Your friends will think you are cool and so will I and my art gets promoted. It is a "win, win" situation.

Groundhog Reggae Jam at The Empty Glass

Tom Batchelor brings his reggae sound system to Charleston's Empty Glass this Saturday night for the Groundhog's Day Jam with nearly every member of Rasta Rafiki plus special guests. Come out for a good night of reggae and see your shadow, or don't see your shadow, but come on out to the Empty Glass this Saturday, February 2, 2008 and maybe Tom will play "Police and Thieves". I will post pics as soon as I get them watermarked. My Rasta Rafiki pics ended up all over MySpace on the pages of various peeps who took it upon themselves to rip them and add their own quotes. I was OK with this for about a split second until it dawned on me that none of the rippers credited me for my work. Therefore I still say NEVER TRUST A HIPPIE. But even Joe Strummer once called himself a hippie.
