Venice Style

Chronicles of a Curb Rat

Jeff's Skateboard Page is my corner of the world of skateboarding. I am an "unprofessional" skateboarder. That is to say that I am not sponsored now nor have I ever been. I don't get paid by any of the companies I write about or endorse here, I simply try to objectively present products and events that stoke me while hoping that you find them interesting.

Pictured above is my current ride of choice,I've really been enjoying this one lately. A SkatePaige 8.88" SIDE-G with Tracker 149mm Dart trucks and 60mm 88a Kryptonic Slammers wheels (about which one reviewer said "You can see what the Slammers look like as they got re-issued and are all over Ebay. For the uninformed, they're soft, squishy, 'fun' wheels that bounce away stones on impact and make your skateboard feel like a Rolls Royce.") I couldn't have said it better.

Style is Crucial

Driveway Quarter Pipe

My prediction for 2013, public skateparks - OUT, driveway quarter pipes - IN.

Scott Oster

Dutch

Big Bang and Cinema City 4 Longboarding. Tom shared this with me, and I found it too good to not share here. Style and flow and a well made piece of film.

Money Bumpin'

Dog Town's recent announcement about the reissue of the Aaron Murray deck brought to mind these 2 gems I recently ran across.

An awesome scalloped shape deck from Lew and Cincinnati Ohio's Fickle Boards.

Deckcrafter's "deckmobile" is made from the original Rip Saw template.

The Earnestness of Being Ray

A true originator, Ray Barbee. I remember reading his Transworld Check Out or something that said Ray started skating in flip flops with stickers on the sides of his feet for ollie pads. When I think of Ray, I think of flannel shirts, no comply shove-its, and good vibes.
